Laura EimanIn 2005, I started PicPads, custom photo notepads made using your favorite photo, as a web-based business. After some clever PR and some beginner's luck, in its first two years PicPads had been highlighted in 8 national magazines including Oprah and Rachel Ray had chosen PicPads as one of her top 10 holiday gifts on her morning TV show.

But luck isn't a strategy. When the press died down, we faced two big problems: our rate of new customer growth slowed and sales had begun to drop.

PicPads business was built with creative and production people. We lacked marketing experience. We lost time, money and confidence on various agencies and consultants until I was introduced to Blue Iceberg.
